Lake Michigan Wedding in Holland, MI
Sarah and Eric’s wedding day was originally set to take place in June of 2020, then they postponed to a date in May of 2021, and then they finally ended up pushing their celebration to basically the end of May on the 30th of 2021. This last postponement meant they had to change all of their plans with only 30 days to go until the big day! It has definitely been a year of crazy wedding planning for all of my CCP couples, and I feel so lucky to have been able to keep up with all of Sarah & Eric’s changing plans and to be there to photograph their wedding day in Holland, MI at Boatwerks Waterfront.
Sarah stepped into her wedding dress surrounded by her sisters and bridesmaids, and with the help of her mom they all managed to get her lace and satin gown buttoned and her cathedral length veil fastened! Sarah planned to see Eric prior to their ceremony in a very intimate and personal first look. I found the PERFECT Lake Michigan vista for them to see each other and then share their personal vows. The scene is truly so breathtaking between the sand dunes, sea grass, blue lake water, and a bride and groom so full of joy and happiness!
After their first look, we took lots of romantic photos along the lakeshore and down on the beach; so much applause 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 for the bride & groom who climbed a huge sand dune in their wedding attire all for the sake of getting some amazing photos and truly embracing beach portraits!!
Sarah and Eric officially became Mr. & Mrs. Ritonja in a ceremony overlooking one of Holland’s waterways with sailboats gliding by and surrounded by their closest friends and family. The reception was tented out on Boatwerk’s patio and allowed guests to really soak up a beautiful day on the water while eating, toasting to the couple, and dancing the night away! We snuck out of the reception for a few minutes at the end of the night to capture a couple last portraits as the sun set over the water.
This week, Sarah and Eric, are trading in the beautiful blue water of Lake Michigan for the waters of St. Lucia and I hope they enjoy viewing some of my favorite images from their wedding day beach side with some tropical drinks in hand!
