Kristen + Dave's Joyful and Laid-Back Wedding

at The Eagle Crest Golf Resort

For me, every wedding feels like a Royal Wedding day because that’s how special each and every one of my CCP Couples are. All of their careful planning has finally come together and all of their closest friends and family travel to see them make their marriage vows. . . But how cool is it that Kristen and Dave will share their wedding anniversary with Prince Harry and Megan Markle?!

There was a chance of thunderstorms predicted for all of Kristen and Dave's wedding day at the at the Eagle Crest. I watched the radar like a hawk and when it came time for their first look by the lake, miraculously, no thunderstorms had arrived!! We all made a mad dash out onto the golf course to take advantage of what we thought was the calm before the storm. When Dave saw Kristen walking towards him, his face became one giant smile! He couldn't take his eyes off Kristen and then fell into her with the biggest hug which made her laugh and throw her head back at his immense joy!⠀

Kristen and Dave either have really good luck or Kristen's Mom was watching out for them from above because they not only got to see each other for the first time in their dream location by the lake, but we also had lots of sunshine for the entire 2 hours of wedding party and romantic portraits on the University of Michigan campus!! I found out later that a friend of the family also placed a broom in a tree, which is a wedding tradition to help ward off rain! Everyone wanted to make sure these two had a very special day!⠀

That broom and Kristen's Mom did their magic for the first half of the day, but the rain eventually arrived. Even though their ceremony had to be moved indoors, Kristen and Dave weren't worried at all and were solely focused on each other and getting married!! Which is the best attitude to have about the weather on your wedding day! After their emotional vows, Kristen and Dave kicked off their reception with a beautiful first dance followed by dinner and dancing.

Kristen and Dave, I can't say enough how wonderful you both are and what a joy it was to photograph you and your families! I wish you both nothing but endless love, laughter, and so many new adventures together. Congratulations, again!!
