Joyful Wedding in an Open Air Chapel, Howell, MI | Kim + Mark
Kim & Mark’s Joyful Wedding Day
in an Open Air Chapel in Howell, MI
I think Kim’s mom said it best on the morning of the wedding when she said Kim looked like a beautiful Irish princess. It was totally spot on and true!! Kim looked so stunning in her Stella York gown which was offset by her shock of black hair and ivory complexion. Kim & Mark envisioned their wedding day as a simple, yet classic celebration that was special not because of all the fancy decor, but because of all the love in the room from their closest family and friends.
Kim and Mark first met online. Mark was afraid to get out and meet new people. Kim was just about to take a break from online dating when she reached out to one last guy; Mark. They met up for drinks a week later and everything felt carefree & fun and they both knew that this time things would be different! Kim said she feels like she can be 100% herself around Mark and with one hug she can feel how much he loves her. . . Ahhh! So stinking’ cute!!
On the morning of the wedding, Kim stepped into her dress with the help of her mom and bridesmaids while Mark’s brother and groomsmen made sure his tie was straight and his pocket square was folded perfectly. They each exchanged heartfelt letters to one another along with gifts before we all headed over to the open air chapel at Crystal Gardens. The most anticipated moment of the day for Kim and Mark was seeing each other for the first time and as Kim slowly down the aisle with her Dad, Mark’s expression was full of love and the joy that he had found his wife and that she was walking towards him!
As the celebrations continued into the reception, Kim and Mark shared their first dance followed by an emotional dance with Mark and his Mom and with Kim and her Dad. We were able to sneak out after dinner at the perfect time to capture some sunset portraits of the newlyweds!! The light was gloomy in the open field next to the venue and, despite a few crickets trying to hitch a ride on Kim’s train, they looked so in love and couldn’t keep their eyes off each other! Kim & Mark, I feel SO honored to have been your wedding photographer and I hope you both had the best time on your Disney honeymoon!!
Love,
Courtney
