Our Romantic, Lakeside Wedding at Bay Pointe Inn | Part 4 Our Wedding Planning Journey
Courtney + Scott’s Romantic,
Lakeside Wedding Day
August 23rd, 2018
Today’s blog is bound to be the one wedding that will always be my absolute favorite; OUR WEDDING!!
I shared these words the day after our wedding which was held on August, 23rd, 2018 at the Bay Pointe Inn, and they are still true to this day 8 months later!!!: “If I had to describe yesterday with one word it would be magical! Everything and everyone was so beautiful and delightful in such a way as it seemed removed from everyday life.
How special is this thing called life that we get to share together?! I am so blessed to be creating beautiful, monumental memories with such a wonderful man! Yesterday was such an emotional and joyful day and all I can put into words right now is how grateful I am for all of our loving family and friends!
It will be a day we keep reliving in our minds for years to come . . . The party started on Wednesday with our rehearsal, an al fresco taco bar, and an outdoor showing of My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding under the stars. It then rolled into Thursday’s itinerary: an incredibly meaningful first look with both my dad and with Scott, our ceremony on the waterfront with a surprise bagpiper, red rose petals raining down on us as we were pronounced husband and wife, a strolling violinist with cocktails, heart-felt toasts from our wedding party and my dad, a delicious gourmet burger bar with Grand Traverse Pies for dessert, late night pretzel rods with beer cheese, and our end of the night dance which packed the dance floor with friends and family!
We loved creating moments of the unexpected for our guests to revel in and we made sure to take their experience into every decision we made! I think one of the favorite unexpected moments was when Scott and I shared our first dance, which was a violin solo of “The Kiss” from the movie Last of the Mohicans. It was completely self-taught choreography based on traditional Scottish and German folk dances, but included a modern twist!
We can’t thank everyone enough for all their love and support on the best day of our lives so far!
Scott, you will forever be my always! I love you, husband!
Now, prepare yourself to be bombarded with our wedding photos from now and for the rest of eternity! (AMAZING PHOTOS by Katelyn James Photography!!) ”
I hope you enjoy this inside look at our romantic, lakeside wedding and these images are laid out exactly how they’ll appear in our hand-bound, leather wedding album once it arrives from Italy! I typically design 30-page wedding albums for my CCP Couples, but when I designed my own I splurged and went with 103 pages (basically the biggest album I could get). :) It’s going to be our first real family heirloom and I wanted to include every important moment and funny candid shot I could to tell the story of our day!
Love,
Courtney

I still can’t believe how wonderful this day was and how seamlessly everything came together! Thank you, again, to all our amazing friends and family who were present to witness our marriage vows and to all of you who couldn’t make it, I hope these photos make you feel as if you were right there with us (because you were in our hears all day)!
We can’t thank our talented team of wedding vendors ENOUGH for making our day one-of-a-kind and so magical! These are the creatives and small businesses that we choose to be apart of creating our beautiful wedding celebration and I can’t recommend them enough!:
