Awesomely Romantic Engagement on Belle Isle Detroit, MI: Lynette + Dylan
This was my first visit to this historic Belle Isle in Detroit, MI and as we all walked around the island I couldn't help but smile when Dylan would say something goofy to Lynette and then she would pull him in close to her. So cute. And they are so in love.
A few moments in front of the James Scott Memorial Fountain proved to be an adventure as the couple climbed up into the fountain to get a better view of the Detroit skyline (the park staff turn off the water at the beginning of fall). Lynette and I shared a total girl/chick flick moment as she said to Dylan, "I like your hair pushed back like that," and Dylan stared blankly at her. We all burst out laughing because apparently "Mean Girls" wasn't a movie on his must-watch list. We strolled over to the Belle Isle Casino and that's when Lynette brought out some balloons - BALLOONS - to incorporate as a prop in their shoot. I love when couples bring along pieces that represent their personality, relationship, or daily life because it gives us something fun to work with and adds depth to their story. :)
After a quick outfit change, Lynette adorned green and white and Dylan maze and blue at the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory to show their individual team spirits. I don't think the rivalry between Michigan State University (Lynette) and University of Michigan (Dylan) will end anytime soon as captured in their playful punching match, but these two still come together on most everything else.
A wonderful blue sky, painted with whispy white clouds, was the backdrop as the Mr. and Mrs.-to-be tossed the football around in front of the Nancy Brown Peace Carillon Tower.
(I first met Lynette and Dylan while freelancing my engagement photography skills for Fairytale Productions and I enjoyed capturing their love for each other on the beautiful Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan! All photos were captured by Courtney Carolyn, but are Copyright to the amazing Fairytale Productions. To read more about why I collaborate and work with other photographers, check out this post.)
I want to wish Lynette and Dylan so much love and happiness at their engagement and I can not wait until your wedding next May!!
Love Always,
Courtney Carolyn
