Fall Lifestyle Family Portraits At Home, Monroe, MI: Brooke + Ben
One of my biggest joys as a wedding photographer is getting to continue photographing couples after their wedding day and as they grow in their marriage and start families! The fall is a special time of year for me in so many ways not only because it is my favorite season, but there are lots of colorful outdoor weddings, I'm meeting with newly engaged couples getting married the following year, and I also sometimes have the privilege of photographing my past clients again!!
Throughout the majority of the calendar year, my attention is on my wedding clients and helping them plan for their big day, but as wedding season comes to an end here in Michigan (near the end of October) I open up my calendar to other lifestyle type portraits. (Including anniversary, family, boudoir, and maternity sessions.)
Brooke and Ben were one of my wedding couples in early 2015 and I couldn't wait for their in-home family portrait session! These two are just the cutest and meeting their precious baby girl, Payton, and capturing the everyday adventures of this little family was such an honor.
I'm the type of photographer who prides herself on capturing people and events in an authentic, genuine way while having fun with my couples in a laid-back environment! I believe that professional photographs can be a powerful tool to not only capture the story of your wedding day but also the other milestones and everyday moments along your journey in life! Life is a collection of moments all strung together to make up our time. Everyday moments happen whether ordinary or extraordinary events take place. Shouldn't those moments be documented? Shouldn't your life story be told?
My goal for Brooke and Ben's lifestyle family portraits was to document the quiet, yet powerful routines that make up their life at the present time. I love that Brooke and Ben chose to hold their portrait session in the comfort of their home because I think it resulted in the most lovely, relaxed portraits and they were free to be themselves! (And these two are the funniest, most adorable, laid-back, and kind people you may ever meet!)
Brooke and Ben, I love you guys so much and I want to thank you for reaching out to me and asking me to be your family photographer! Payton is just SO cute and I was honored to meet her in person. I can't wait to see what you both accomplish next and please know that I will be cheering you on every step of the way!
Love,
Courtney
