Enchanted Forest Destination Wedding, Interlochen, MI: Victoria + Tyler

It is said that rain on your wedding day is an omen of good luck for your marriage. On the morning of Victoria and Tyler's outdoor forest wedding in Interlochen, MI the forecast called for rain storms. Victoria and Tyler were admittedly a bit worried that they may have to relocated from their Northern Michigan woods at Frog Pond Village to someplace a bit dryer.

I met Victoria and Tyler through the amazingly talented Brittany Alies Photography as her second shooter for the day, and as Victoria prepared to walk down the petal strewn aisle to Tyler, the rain drops began to fade away and the sky cleared revealing amazing overcast skies! When it comes to photography, overcast or cloudy skies are actually more ideal then direct, bright sun because the clouds act as a big diffuser that creates soft, beautiful light on your subjects!

Victoria and Tyler's wedding ceremony was so sweet and touching - even I couldn't help but shed a tear during the vows! They promised that from this day forward, they would not walk alone. Tyler promised his heart would be her shelter and Victoria vowed that her arms would be his home.

Victoria and Tyler, I am so honored to have been one of your wedding photographers and thank you for sharing your special day with me! I wish you both nothing but love, happiness, and amazing adventures together!

Love Always,

Courtney Carolyn

Victoria had a beautiful wedding bouquet of pink roses, white carnations, and baby's breath!

Victoria - your lace wedding dress is seriously one of my favorites ever! With the delicate lace covering the front bodice and opening up for a hint of sexy in the back.

Frog Pond Village was such a cute little place with Edison lights strung across the courtyard, little frog sculptures hidden here and there, vines growing up the walls, and of course the amazing tall pine trees!

I love it when couples decide to break from tradition a little bit on their wedding day to incorporate elements that are unique and more personal! Instead of the traditional sand ceremony or unity candle, Victoria and Tyler decided to each bring soil from their childhood homes and to plant a tree using the combined dirt! They even had these adorable little gardening shovels with Mr. and Mrs. painted on them!

Victoria and Tyler also had very unique wedding bands that Tyler himself designed with a bit of non-traditional bronze metals.

These two had so much fun at Victoria's parent's lake front home for some romantic portraits!
