A Dusk Sleepy Hollow Park Engagement, Lansing, MI: Megan + Shawn
Megan and Shawn love to spend time together traveling, playing soccer, and they also enjoy spending relaxing nights in the comfort of their home cooking dinner. To say that these two are fun is such an understatement and while at their Sleepy Hollow State Park and Lansing Fire Station engagement, I listened as Shawn and Megan recounted the early days of their relationship!
Soccer is a big passion for both Megan and Shawn, and Megan currently coaches a youth soccer team in Lansing. Soccer is also what brought them together. They officially met while working the concessions in high school, but they were reintroduced two years later when Megan, who was injured during a game, rode in an ambulance and on the way to the hospital she recognized Shawn as one of the paramedics!
Over the next four years, and between lots of laughter, trips to the lake, school, hugs, hilarious awkward moments, and cozy nights on the couch, Megan and Shawn fell in love. On their fourth anniversary they decided to travel to Mackinaw Island and the Upper Peninsula and Shawn carried with him in his pocket an engagement ring! On the last night of their vacation, Shawn took Megan to some secluded sand dunes to watch the sun set. They sat together talking and watched - as Megan called it - an "almost" sunset since there sadly wasn't much to it. It was here, overlooking Lake Michigan on the sandy dune, where Shawn got down on one knee and asked Megan to spend the rest of their lives together!
Megan and Shawn, I had such a fun time with you both at your engagement session and was excited to get to know you better. I cannot wait until your wedding day next year! Congrats again!
Warmly,
Courtney Carolyn
