I have always been inspired by love stories, and I believe the most romantic, honest photographs are timeless.

I had the honor and the privilege to work with some pretty awesome couples in 2016, and I wanted to be sure to share some of my all-time favorites from their weddings. These images make me fall in love all over again with my job, and were narrowed down from 4,198 overall wedding favorites from 2016! I am still pinching myself a little bit after hearing the news last week! I was absolutely floored to be recognized amongst my professional peers as well as other talented photographers whom I consider friends! . . .

Lauren + Marcus | Belle Isle Conservatory Engagement, Detroit, MI

Before Lauren and Marcus' engagement session at Belle Isle in Detroit, I sent them my Engagement Session Style Guide which includes everything from choosing the right location for your portraits to coordinating outfits to the little details you don't want to forget about. I think they totally ROCKED their engagement photos and can I gush one last time about their unbelievable outfits for a minute - gorgeous taste and Lauren has such an eye for style! I believe that because they were given the tools to prepare, that allowed both Lauren and Marcus to relax, be themselves, and to most importantly have fun at their engagement session! . . .

Elegant, Laid-Back Wedding at The Colony Club, Detroit, MI: Molly + Chris

I received one of the best compliments after 10 hours of capturing Molly & Chris' amazing wedding day. Their wedding was held at the iconic Colony Club and at the majestic Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit, MI. At the end of the night, while dancing was well underway, I walked up to Molly and gave her a big hug goodbye and said one last congratulations to her on her marriage to Chris! Molly smiled and because the music was so loud she leaned in closer to me as she said, "We had so much fun with you today! It felt like you were just our good friends here celebrating all day while taking the photos." After hearing those words, the soreness and longness of the day just melted away from my body. Molly's words made all of my hard work throughout the day of looking for the best locations, the best light, anticipating moments, and staying on schedule so worth it! . . .

Grosse Ile, MI and Silver Shores Waterfront Wedding: Rachel + Steve

There is something so honest and wonderful about the way Steve looks at Rachel. . . and when they looked at each other as Rachel walked down the aisle in the intimate St. Anne Chapel in Grosse, Ile, MI, they were instantly connected. Rachel's dad gripped her arm as they walked toward Steve and I could see the emotion of the day start to well up on his face. This moment when Steve saw Rachel for the first time was a moment he and both families greatly anticipated! Steve and Rachel had dated each other since high school and this day was finally here and no one could contain their excitement! . . .

Navy, Blush, & Gold Grosse Pointe War Memorial Wedding: Ericka + Mike

On Ericka's wedding day, she planned a special surprise for her Dad. After Ericka's Mom and her Maid of Honor helped her into her stunning, blush colored wedding gown, she took a deep breath and gathered herself for her Dad to enter the room. Ericka's Dad saw his beautiful daughter and at first he could only muster a smile and two thumbs up! Ericka and everyone in the room burst into laughter and then quiet tears at her Dad's reaction! . . .

Romantic Plum, Blush, & Gold Detroit Athletic Club Wedding: Erin + Scott

Erin and Scott prepared for their wedding day at the beautiful and historic Detroit Athletic Club surrounded by their closest friends and loved ones! Erin was so at ease as she stepped into her Robert Bullock wedding gown which fit her perfectly! Scott looked very dapper and charming as he fixed his plum colored tie against his grey suit. Erin and Scott are so laid-back and fun that I felt so lucky to be welcomed in to capture their wedding day! . . .

Laid-Back Winter Engagement in Detroit, MI: Tina + Zach

When Tina told me that she loves the fall and pumpkin everything, I knew that we would be instant friends! Coincidence or not, the fall season also became the backdrop to Zach's proposal last September! While walking along the leaf covered trails of the cider mill with donuts in one hand and hot cider in the other, Zach stopped by the water and got down on one knee. Much to Tina's shock and aw, Zach asked her to marry him and she only had one answer for the man of her dreams; a resounding yes!
