Sarah stepped into her wedding dress surrounded by her sisters and bridesmaids, and with the help of her mom they all managed to get her lace and satin gown buttoned and her cathedral length veil fastened! Sarah planned to see Eric prior to their ceremony in a very intimate and personal first look. I found the PERFECT Lake Michigan vista for them to see each other and then share their personal vows. The scene is truly so breathtaking between the sand dunes, sea grass, blue lake water, and a bride and groom so full of joy and happiness! . . .

Romantic Micro Wedding at St. Paul's Lutheran Church | Abby + Felipe

. . . There was something so intimate and romantic about Abby & Felipe’s micro (or tiny) wedding day and the energy, to me, felt like a wedding my grandparents probably experienced after the depression; not a lot of fanfare, with just a simple, but beautiful commitment ceremony. Abby’s gorgeous lace dress and faux fur shawl along with the pops of red flowers in her bouquet, even felt vintage-inspired to me! I wanted to capture that feeling through my photography, and I made sure to focus on all the simple, candid moments that happened and to capture romantic portraits of the bride & groom afterwards! . . .

Chelsey and Joe’s wedding day was such a special day that was filled with countless moments that turned from hilarious to absolutely touching and tearful. Chelsey prepared to meet her groom, Joe, at her parents home and had a special request for photos with her adorable pug, Phoebe, and she also wanted to make sure I got a few photos of her bridal details, especially her Louboutin shoes which she purchased in New York! Those red soled shoes (and all her other details for that matter!) gave me all the heart eyes. . .

Kim looked so stunning in her Stella York gown which was offset by her shock of black hair and ivory complexion. Classic Wedding Day at the Detroit Golf Club & Grosse Pointe Academy | Carly + Matt

One night at a bar, ironically, named “No Fun ” in New York’s Lower East Side, Matt mustered up the courage to approach a pretty girl standing at the bar whose name was Carly. After hitting it off and after months of dating, one day Carly found a note in her apartment which was left there by Matt. It became the first clue in a scavenger hunt all around the city leading Carly down memory lane to some of their favorite bars, restaurants, and shops! The very last spot she arrived to was that fatefully bar where they had first met and Matt was waiting outside. He dropped down to one knee and proposed to Carly before they went inside to the cheers of congratulations from her entire family who’d flown in from Michigan! . . .

Surprise Proposal in Downtown Detroit, Hart Plaza | Josh + Taylor

Pop the champagne!! I’d like to make a toast because Josh proposed to Taylor in Hart Plaza and I had the honor of photographing the moment she said “YES!” It all began about 1 month prior when Josh emailed me about his plans to propose to his girlfriend, Taylor. Josh really wanted to make the day special and planned to go into Detroit on August 2nd to celebrate her birthday with a nice dinner, a concert, and, unbeknownst to Taylor, a surprise proposal right in the heart of downtown and he wanted a me there to photograph it! . . .
