Collegiate Engagement Ann Arbor, MI at University of Michigan: Melissa + Jeremy
Students with bags and important looking textbooks bustled past Melissa and Jeremy eager to get to class or to meet-up with friends on the University of Michigan campus. As Melissa and Jeremy strolled the collegiate grounds in Ann Arbor, during their engagement session with me, they began to reminisce about their time together. They laugh about it now, but these two met unofficially for the first time in high school government class. Melissa was the girl who sat behind Jeremy and each thought the other weird.
They didn't know it then, but over the next few years Melissa and Jeremy would begin their relationship, fall in love, attend college together, binge watch countless episodes on Netflix, and eventually become engaged.
As we explored the different areas of the beautiful campus, I couldn't help but see all the love between Jeremy and Melissa. He would make a face or noise and she would laugh and in turn, her laugh made him grin from ear to ear. Melissa would crack a joke or a funny face and it was as if I wasn't even there in these tender moments. I felt honored knowing that I was given the opportunity to photograph two funny, smart, sassy, and genuine people and I cannot wait for their wedding next year!

P.S. Fun Fact: They love the movie "Mean Girls," and since this engagement happened on a Wednesday, I felt it was necessary that I wear pink to their session. :)
It's not every couple that when you say, "Let's do something fun like a dance off," they bust out into these seriously awesome dance moves!
Being born into a home that is strictly Green and White (Michigan State reference) - not that it really matters a whole lot to me - I was enlighten by Melissa and Jeremy that there is a superstition when it comes to the "M" on the diag. Supposedly, should one stand on the "M" it will bring you bad luck and you will fail your exams... that is unless you run naked halfway across campus at midnight. I thought it best if we didn't risk it.
