Elegant and Romantic Fall Wedding, Monroe, MI | Katie + Josh
I am freaking out over here, friends!! Katie and Josh’s wedding day was so amazing and Katie made SUCH a gorgeous bride! I am pouring myself a refreshing cup of hot apple cider this morning as I look back on their elegant and romantic fall wedding day! Katie and Josh were my last CCP Couple to get married this year and I loved all the thoughtful and personal details they incorporated into their church wedding and river front reception.
As Katie stepped into her stunning lace fit-and-flare wedding gown, her mom told me that Katie would be carrying with her part of her own wedding dress as well as part of her grandmother's wedding dress that had been sewn together into a custom handbag for Katie. How cool, right?! Katie and Josh said their vows in the sweetest little church and it's also the same church where her grandparents AND where her great grandparents were married!! All 3 generations will have been married at St. Mary’s and even more unique is that they all share the same anniversary; October 21st! This is probably the most unique family tradition I’ve come across thus far and I just think it makes for such a interesting story.
Katie and Josh vowed to love each other always, and then they sealed their commitment with a kiss and a secret handshake that had everyone laughing! A line of trees with bright yellow and orange leaves were the back drop for Katie and Josh’s romantic portraits and it looked like a fall fairytale (even though it was 75 degrees!). The toasts given at the reception were so heartfelt and I loved capturing all the small glances Katie and Josh shared, the moment Katie’s Dad wiped away a few tears, and the way Josh’s groomsmen all huddled together during the prayer before dinner.
Katie and Josh I am so happy for you both and I feel so honored to have been your wedding photographer! I wish you both nothing short of a lifetime full of love, laughter, and many more adventures together!
