Modern Fall Wedding at Solitude Links Golf Course, Port Huron, MI: Marita + Kirt

Marita and Kirt's wedding day was so relaxed and laid-back and all their family and friends in attendance could not stop smiling the entire day because of the amount of joy and love surrounding these two individuals! To top it off, Marita and Kirt had a truly magnificent fall-colored backdrop at the Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center in Port Huron, MI where they held their reception!

After the ceremony ended we headed outside in the beautiful fall air for portraits! You wouldn't know it from looking at these photos but the sun was setting . . . and fast. I was starting to worry because we still had to capture bride and groom portraits and wedding party photos within about 15 minutes!! BUT this group of people in the wedding party had such great attitudes and KNEW how important photos were to the bride and groom so they all agreed that I should go ahead and capture as many photos of the bride and groom as possible and then grab the group shots.

Once I had captured all of the romantic photos of the bride and groom (some of my new all-time favorites!!), everyone in the wedding party was so cooperative and candid as I set them up for portraits with about 5 minutes of light left. I sincerely know how important the wedding party pictures are because these are the people the bride and groom love and cherish as friends! What you can see from the portraits is how happy they all were for Marita and Kirt and their fun personalities.

To be honest it can sometimes be a challenge to capture the wedding party portraits because most of the time the group is just ready to dance and party at the reception (which is TOTALLY justified!). But this group of amazing people were so awesome, and I want to give a huge thank you out to them for having Marita and Kirt's best interest at heart and for being a joy to work with!

Near the end of the night, Marita and Kirt also took a few minutes to step outside during their reception. I always think it's nice for the bride and groom to have a few moments to themselves on the wedding day to take it all in and really be present! While they walked the grounds of the golf course I was able to grab a couple really creative shots of Marita and Kirt beneath a huge sky full of stars (make sure to scroll all the way to the end to see those)!

Marita and Kirt, I want to thank you again for choosing me to be your wedding photographer! It truly was an honor for me to capture your wedding day and to be invited in amongst your closest family and friends. Your wedding day as a whole served as a reminder to me as to why I am so passionate about weddings and why I love my job! (If I can even call it that!) I wish you both nothing but happiness, laughter, and a ton of crazy adventures in your life together!
