Romantic Garden Estate Engagement, Grosse Pointe, MI: Alexis + Alan
Along the shoreline of Lake St. Clair, in Grosse Pointe, sits an impressive yet unpretentious home where the Ford Motor family built a life together. This beautiful estate reflects Edsel and Eleanor Ford's passion for art and design and represents a safe and loving place that they shared together. . . When Alexis told me they wanted to hold their engagement session at The Henry Ford House I was floored and ecstatic! I love history and exploring new and interesting places and I couldn't wait to explore this private residence with them!
For Alexis and Alan, family is everything and they cherish their time with all of their loved ones above most everything else and it seemed very fitting that they wanted to hold the engagement at not only a gorgeous estate complete with rose gardens, lagoons, and that has the resemblance of a Cotswold cottage, but in a place that literally is a family centered escape!
As we all strolled along the nature inspired grounds during their session, Alexis and Alan reminisced about how the proposal happened. They were walking in downtown Rochester, taking in all the holiday lights that were still up, and at one point they stopped and Alan asked another couple passing by them to take their picture. After the picture, these wonderful strangers handed the camera back to Alan. To Alexis' surprise (and a bit of embarrassment!), Alan said he didn't like the picture that the couple took and if they could please take another one. When Alexis moved to hug Alan close to her for the picture, he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him! So sweet!
Alexis and Alan, I had so much fun with you both and I loved getting to know you a bit better! I can't wait until your wedding day next year!
Love Always,
